Black Wolf Rattery (BWR) is a Southern California rattery breeding friendly affectionate pet rats. My focus is Russian Blue Burmese rats, chocolate rats, and Siamese rats. My rats are bred as pets, with a "wildly friendly" disposition, and people-oriented temperaments. The health of my rats is tracked closely, and can be viewed publicly on my website by following the "Information and Links" at the left. I produce about 4-6 litters in a year, and will not have baby rats available for adoption at all times. If you are interested in my rats, please feel free to contact me at any time. I do hold a wait-list, which I use to keep interested parties updated on my litters.
Black Wolf Rattery came into existence in 2001, after I had been keeping pet rats for 10 years. Since that time my rattery has undergone several transformations, but my goals have remained the same: breed better rats. In the fall 2006 I started reworking my breeding program. I am currently a member of the Northern Illinois Rat Organization (NIRO), where I currently hold the position of Secretary. I am also a member of the North American Rat Registry (NARR), where all rats and litters residing and born here will be registered, and a member of the American Fancy Rat and Mouse Association (AFRMA).
Why adopt from Black Wolf Rattery?
I do not mass produce rats, nor breed for whole-sale. I do not have feeder rats for sale. My rats are strictly placed as pets-only to private adopters.

PLEASE NOTE: My adoption inquiry form is currently out of order. I will be working on getting the error fixed and repost it as soon as possible. Until then, please e-mail all inquiries: blackwolfrattery@gmail.com
Jan. 31, 2009: Most individual rat pages have been updated. New pictures and information can now be viewed. News about upcoming litters will be posted when available. If you are interested in adopting my rats, please e-mail me to start the adoption process. I keep all interested parties updated.
Dec. 16, 2009: Black Wolf Rattery currently has no new litters. Next litter is expected for early 2010 - more details to be posted later. At this time BWR is moving (still in Southern California), and time is needed to settle in and deal with the stress that comes from buying a house and moving. Please be patient for replies. If you are on the wait list and wish to be removed, please send me an email. If you are not on the wait list and would like to be added, send and email. Thank you.
