At the time this litter was bred I was basically starting over and figuring out which direction I was going. I wanted to work with Burmese, which the parents of this litter were expected to produce. At the time I was not aware of the health in these rats' backgrounds, other than "pretty good". I knew and met this litters grandparents and some of the great-grandparents. I expected and intended to monitor my own litter's health over time and formulate or change my plans and goals as necessary. The parents of this litter were selected to help improve on type as well as maintain excellent temperament. Type is slowly being improved over time, but the excellent temperaments of these rats have proven to be a strongly inherited trait. The line-breeding occurring in this litter will help me to better determine the health of these rats, as well as help me cement in those traits I wish to keep.
