Welcome to Black Wolf Rattery!
Black Wolf Rattery (BWR) is a Southern California rattery breeding friendly affectionate pet rats. My focus is Russian Blue Burmese rats, chocolate rats, and Siamese rats. My rats are bred as pets, with a "wildly friendly" disposition, and people-oriented temperaments. The health of my rats is tracked closely, and can be viewed publicly on my website by following the "Information and Links" at the left. I produce about 4-6 litters in a year, and will not have baby rats available for adoption at all times. If you are interested in my rats, please feel free to contact me at any time. I do hold a wait-list, which I use to keep interested parties updated on my litters.

Black Wolf Rattery came into existence in 2001, after I had been keeping pet rats for 10 years. Since that time my rattery has undergone several transformations, but my goals have remained the same: breed better rats. In the fall 2006 I started reworking my breeding program. I am currently a member of the Northern Illinois Rat Organization (NIRO), where I currently hold the position of Secretary. I am also a member of the North American Rat Registry (NARR), where all rats and litters residing and born here will be registered, and a member of the American Fancy Rat and Mouse Association (AFRMA).

Why adopt from Black Wolf Rattery?

I do not mass produce rats, nor breed for whole-sale. I do not have feeder rats for sale. My rats are strictly placed as pets-only to private adopters.

Jul. 11, 2010: Slowly I am working on getting my website updated. It has been neglected for several months now as I was buying and moving into a house. I do not currently have new litters, and am working out my plans for the coming months. One of the two girls kept from my February litter, Hermia or Katherine, will be bred in mid-August. The other will be bred late-August/early-September. The first litter will be born early/mid-September, the second litter will be born late-September/early-October. If you have already contacted me about rats, I will be emailing you to see if you are interested in either of these litters and start taking reservations. If you have not already contacted me and are interested, please email me as reservations are expected to fill up quickly. If you have any other questions, please let me know!
