Serenade is a little more outgoing than her sister, but still a little more reserved than my other girls. She is very active, and almost always on the move. She has given me something new to get used to, since my females are typically not that active! Even as an adult she loves running in the exercise wheel and rarely sits still.
Serenade has nice overall type. She has good bone, but a little small. Her head is a little long, but has good shape, and her one good eye (the other was injured when she was a baby) is nice and big. Her ears have nice shape, but are a little small. She has a nice thick tail, though her back end is a little “cut off”. She shows very little silvering and has nice color for a Russian blue agouti.
Serenade, and her sister Lacey, came from Willow Creek Rattery in Illinois. They were brought to Black Wolf Rattery to help improve type, particularly heads, as well as help improve health. Serenade was meant to be a part of this outcross, unfortunately she failed to conceive a litter when bred to BWR Boulevard of Broken Dreams. Instead she had a false pregnancy, fooling me into thinking she was pregnant when she was not. About two weeks into her supposed pregnancy her weight leveled off. Around her due date she started to lose weight again. She was tried again unsuccessfully, after which point I did not attempt to breed her again.
